ShiftSync runs in your browser, but you can install it so it opens like an app — with its own icon and a full-screen window — on your phone, tablet or computer. On iPhone and iPad, installing it this way is also required before push notifications will work.
Install ShiftSync
When your browser can install ShiftSync, an Install app option appears in the menu. It only shows while ShiftSync isn’t installed yet, so it disappears once you’ve added it.
In Chrome or Edge, select Install app in the left sidebar (below Help), or use the install icon in the browser’s address bar. Confirm the prompt — ShiftSync opens in its own window with an icon in your apps or Dock.
Safari and Firefox on the desktop can’t install web apps.
- Tap your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Install app.
- Confirm your browser’s install prompt.
- Open ShiftSync from the new Home Screen icon.
You can also open Chrome’s menu (the ⋮ button) and choose Install app (or Add to Home screen).
You need to use Safari on iOS. Tap your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Install app to open the Install on iOS dialog — or do these steps straight from Safari:
- Tap the Share button.
- Choose Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add, then open ShiftSync from the new Home Screen icon.
If you’re setting up notifications, ShiftSync prompts you with a dialog headed Install to enable notifications — push only works once ShiftSync is on your Home Screen. After you open it from the icon, come back to the Notifications tab and select Enable on this device.
