When you connect an app or AI assistant — like Claude or ChatGPT — to ShiftSync, it’s granted access to your account so it can read and change your shifts on your behalf. The Apps settings let you see everything you’ve connected and remove any you no longer trust or use.
Find your connected apps
Open Settings from the main menu — the left sidebar on desktop, or the menu behind your avatar on mobile — and choose the Apps tab.
You’ll see a row for each app you’ve given access to, showing its icon and name. If you haven’t connected anything yet, you’ll see “You haven’t given any apps access to your account yet.”
See what an app can access
Each app row has a permissions link. Tap it to open a popup listing what the app is allowed to do — for example viewing your shifts, or creating and editing them. Close the popup with its close button or by tapping outside it.
If the app provided a website, a Visit website link takes you there in a new tab.
Apps ShiftSync hasn’t reviewed
Some apps — AI assistants especially — connect to ShiftSync without anyone at ShiftSync registering or checking them first. They identify themselves by a web address they control, and the name they show is one they chose for themselves.
When you’re asked to approve one, the approval screen tells you so: it shows the address the app identifies itself by, along with “ShiftSync hasn’t reviewed it.” It also tells you where approving will send you next. If you don’t recognise the address, don’t approve it.
If the app runs on your own computer, you’ll see an extra note saying so and asking you to continue only if you started the connection yourself. That’s worth taking seriously — a request like that can only be trusted if you were the one who made it.
Revoke an app’s access
To remove an app:
- Find the app in the Apps tab.
- Tap Revoke on its row.
- A confirmation asks “Revoke access?” — because revoking will break that app’s access to your data. Tap Revoke to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.
Once revoked, the app disappears from the list and can no longer read or change anything in your account. If you want to use it again later, you’ll need to reconnect and approve access from scratch.
Note: Revoking here is the ShiftSync side of disconnecting. You can also disconnect from the assistant’s own connector settings (in Claude or ChatGPT) — either one ends the app’s access.
