If you work the same shift on a regular pattern — every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, every other day, or the 1st of each month — you can make one shift recurring instead of adding each occurrence yourself. ShiftSync then fills your calendar in for you.
Recurrence starts from a normal shift: add one to the first day, then open it for editing and turn on repeating.
Make a shift repeat
- Tap your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Your shifts.
- Find the shift in the day’s list and tap its ⋯ (more) menu, then Edit.
- Click Your shifts in the left sidebar.
- Find the shift in the day’s list and click its ⋯ (more) menu, then Edit.
In the Edit shift editor:
- Tap Make recurring.
- Under Repeats, choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
- Set Every to how often it repeats — e.g.
2with Weekly means every other week. - For a Weekly pattern, tick the weekdays it should fall on (Mon–Sun). Leave them all unticked to repeat on the same weekday as the original shift.
- Under Ends, choose when it stops:
- Never — repeats indefinitely.
- On date — pick an End date; the last occurrence is on or before that day.
- After — set a number of Occurrences.
- Tap Save.
The repeating shifts appear on your calendar, each marked with a ↻ repeat icon.
How recurring shifts behave
- Occurrences are generated about 6 months ahead and topped up over time, so a never-ending pattern always has months of shifts ready.
- For a Monthly pattern on the 29th, 30th or 31st, months that don’t have that date are skipped (for example, the 31st skips February, April, June, September and November).
- Each occurrence is a normal shift — it counts towards your hours and pay, shows in your calendar feed, and can be shared with friends like any other shift.
Edit or delete part of a series
When you edit or delete a shift that repeats, ShiftSync asks how much of the series to change:
- This shift — just this one occurrence.
- This and following shifts — this occurrence and every later one.
- All shifts in the series — every occurrence, past and future.
Changing the Repeats pattern itself always applies from the shift you’re editing onwards, splitting the series at that point.
Stop a shift repeating
Open any occurrence for editing, tap Remove recurrence, then Save. That occurrence and the ones before it are kept; the later ones are removed and the shift stops repeating.
