A template is a reusable shift you define once and then drop onto any day of your calendar. Instead of typing the same start time, end time, colour and name every time you work, you build the shift as a template and reuse it for every matching day.

For example, you might create an Early template that runs 06:00–14:00 in orange, and a Late template that runs 14:00–22:00 in blue. From then on, adding a shift is just picking the right template and choosing the days.

What a template holds

Every template stores:

  • Title — the full name, e.g. Early shift.
  • Short title — a compact label used where space is tight, such as the calendar.
  • All day, or a start time and end time — see below.
  • Colour — shown behind the icon and on the calendar so shifts are easy to tell apart.
  • Icon or emoji — an optional symbol for the template (or none at all).
  • Visibility — who can see shifts made from this template. See template visibility.
  • Notes — optional default notes carried onto each shift.

All-day vs timed templates

When you build a template you choose one of two kinds:

  • Timed — has a start time and end time (for example 09:00–17:00). Use this for normal working shifts.
  • All day — has no times and covers the whole day. Use this for things like annual leave or a day off.

You can change a single shift’s times later without changing the template — see change or adjust a shift.
